Converted from a closed-down small saddlery shop
in December 2010, we call ourselves a café-bar, others have used the term micropub... we don't mind either way but we strive to be the best bar in Macclesfield (traditionally nicknamed Treacle Town).
Constantly rotating cask ales
usually sourced from local microbreweries, ever-changing and exciting craft beers on keg, a great range of bottled beers, wines and spirits, coffee, teas, comfy seating and even a piano, The Treacle Tap is a cosy place to relax with the paper, enjoy an evening with friends, or sit down to a hearty meal.
For the foodies
our 5 star awarded kitchen provides quality food all day - from meat and cheese platters, to locally-made award winning (Great North Pie Co) pie meals.
The atmosphere is relaxed
with friendly staff behind the bar, laid back jazz playing in the background and some great visual art adorning the walls.
We're at the centre of our community
hosting all manner of events and groups - foreign language conversation evenings, book club, craft nights, quizzes, 'Meet The Brewer' evenings ~ check out our Events page for details. Most of these are free entry and newcomers are always welcome, as are ideas for new groups.
We are less than a minute's walk from from both the bus and the train station
Whether you are just passing through, or you live here in Macclesfield, you can be assured of a warm welcome at this award-winning community hub.
